If you don't play music yourself but are interested in hosting a musician or group for a community music event, please use the signup below. Your porch, your rules. And if you have neighbourhood kids who want to set up a lemonade and cookie stand, invite them to do so and keep the money for future entrepreneurial endeavours! For porch hosts, lawn signs promoting live music in Carleton Place will be dropped off closer to the event.

There is no charge for Carleton Place Porchfest, one of the exciting Carleton Place events! If you wish to show your appreciation for the performers during this vibrant community music event, donations can be made to the Lanark County Food Bank, The Hunger Stop, which supports those in need while you enjoy live music in Carleton Place.
Heather Adeney creates carefully crafted songs, which she sings while playing the electric bass or the acoustic guitar. Her tunes are full of harmony and often feature syncopated or funky rhythms. Her lyrics lean towards the unexpected. She enjoys collaborating with her songwriting sister Kathryn.
The songs started coming as her children were leaving. But being late to the party in no way mellowed Kath's rebellious spirit, and her nerdily funny songs of love and family and being human are as likely to be 10 chords and some lies, as 3 chords and the truth.
Drawn to folk and acoustic music, Chad plays a mix of originals and covers. The pieces tend to proceed as intended, though the outcome is not always entirely faithful to the plan. He also plays harmonica on some songs.
Fred, a retired carpenter and back-to-the-lander, stopped swinging a hammer and started strumming a jerry-rigged four string tenor guitar a while back. Making up songs, often stories, soon wormed its way into his brain. His songs are quirky, delightful, touching and utterly original.
Some concerts entertain. A Kay Francis concert reminds audiences they are not alone. Through unexpected stories, heartfelt songwriting, and moments of disarming humour, the classically trained vocalist creates contemporary folk performances that leave people feeling seen, understood, and grateful for our shared humanity.
Mike Wattie is a cover singing busker and was a member of a local group called "Judge a Book" for more than 15 years. Writing and singing original songs is a newer endeavor with fresh challenges and rewards. His songs often feel like expressions of longing that find the magic of what was there all along, and when shared, strive to establish human connection and and healing.
